2025 TESTIMONIALS

SHANNON MCFARLANE

Q: It is very important that all of the attendees feel relaxed, and are given the opportunity to FILL their cup rather than depleted by the end of our event. Do you feel a sense of empowerment and excitement about what you took away from MTG 2025- were you filled up and are you ready to pour out into your life and career?

“Yes! I took notes like crazy and have reflected on them since being home. It inspired me to really focus on ME, and my career, and that in itself has given me strength and power in a time where I have been feeling anything but strong and resilient. Metanoia came at exactly the right time for me, and I think about it often and it reminds me that I do have a wonderful career to be grateful for.”

“One important thing that I say to everyone who asks about my experience here, is that at times it really felt like group therapy. Everyone came to this event with an open heart and an open mind, and barriers seemed to not exist. It was truly inspiring to be around a group of like-minded women who really valued each others' stories and input. There is not nearly enough community support in this industry, and so to find that here was indeed a gift. Thank you!“

“I cannot say enough about the lovely atmosphere that was created for this get together. It is truly wonderful to get to come do something that felt free of judgement, competition, or pressure. I sometimes worry about gatherings in the tattoo industry being too intense for me and that I won't feel like I fit in or measure up to whoever else is present. I also worry about conferences being mentally, emotionally, and physically exhausting, and going home more tired than when I arrived. So it was such a dream to go home from an industry event feeling hopeful, peaceful, and refreshed.”

Q: What was your favorite part about Metanoia Tattoo Gathering 2025?

Meeting other lady tattooers, tbh. I loved connecting with others in the industry with similar outlooks and positive attitudes. It helps remind me that its not just me against the old school tatt bros of the world and we really are stronger together.

Q: How did you like the food and beverages that were provided? Would you make any changes?

“Fabulous! Wouldn’t change a thing. I really enjoyed all of the snacks and meals. It was nice not to have to worry about breakfast before coming and it was so nice to have some midday pick me ups with Deadless Elixer or relax with an 805 beer.”

Q: Did you feel an overall sense of peace and calm throughout the event?

“Definitely, starting with the fabulous dark, moody, candle lit incense filled room. So dreamy. It totally set the mood and I loved the calm and upbeat, chill music.”

Q: Do you feel there was enough variety with the seminars and activities?

“Yes, I thought that there was a nice variety that really covered all aspects of tattoo business. From personal life and juggling that with work, to finances, to machines and getting to test things out.  I really felt like we were on a retreat. I liked that there were class times and then times to really be more intimate with each other both in a group setting and one on one. The time for everyone to share their stories, to connect and get advice from one another was great.”

“I felt so recharged and empowered to really step into doing what’s right for me and my life.  A new sense of excitement and a new plan to execute.  The support of the ladies at the event to really just have faith that what I’m doing is right for me even if it feels like I’m not doing things right or enough. It’s helped to keep me going when I think back during times when I feel unsure.”
